03:21 PM ET 11.12 | Arkansas allegedly has Gary Patterson near the top of their wish list, but the longtime TCU coach isn't giving any clues on where he might or might not stand with the Hogs. He's issued a no comment on the matter for the time being. The Razorbacks are deep into their nearly year-long coaching search, with John L. Smith all but certain not to return.

"all but certain".
Could have just said "certain not to return".

Patterson's 'no comment' must really ease the minds of the Horned Froggers.

Patterson has a season to finish. He should verbally chastize any and all media types who breach the subject at his press conferences, emphatically telling everyone present that he's focused on TCU and revoking the press credentials of all who dare to question him about Arkansas after that.
Meanwhile, his agent can continue discussions with Arky on the QT.

I saw something on this earlier today, can't remember where; doesn't matter. Anyway he is supposedly high on Tennessee's list as well. Don't think he's interested in moving anywhere but I'm certainly not an authority on this.

FrogFan, what's Patterson's family situation? Lot's of things could anchor him in Fort Worth, especially if he's got excellent working relationships with the TCU PTB.

Of course he is high on a lot of lists, should you not want your coach to be this good.

Not to pick on your boy...but only if you end up moving after saying you won't.

Bigger stadiums, SEC is a financially stout conference, more fan preasure, more media glare, plenty plenty more gelt.

TCU is raking in the $$$$ with the new B12 contract that they have never seen before. He does appear to be a person of integrity to me and may wish to see it through for a few more years. I do think sans the $$$$ it is a lateral move. Arky may take 5 yrs to get close to a rebuild after what John L has done and Tenn???? If it is about money he will go, if it is about being competitive?

From the Arkansas camp, I'll be surprised if he is the man.

Good insight. If you have a great coach, he will draw attention from other programs (NCAA and NFL). Only a few schools are truly destination positions. For most, if they strike gold with a acoach, he will eventually leave for a better job.

He can move right down I-35 very soon if he wants.

That move would make sense! IMO

Yeah. I think we'll be seeing a lot of 'Patterson to <insert school>?" stories in the next couple months.
