04:18 PM ET 11.12 | The Pittsburgh Steelers released rookie defensive tackle Alameda Ta'amu on Monday afternoon. The move comes weeks after the fourth-round pick was arrested in October for a DUI. Ta'amu was suspended by the NFL for two weeks following the incident. Ta'amu is eligible for practice squads. The Steelers may not want him back following the incident, but another team could possibly take a flyer on a once highly-regarded college player.

Ta'amu is currently facing a combination of 18 felony, misdemeanor and summary citations, I don't think he'll be available to play in the near future, then there are those messy civil cases which will surely follow the criminal ones....

Good Prospect, Steelers have no time for young guys with no respect for the team!
