07:44 AM ET 11.13 | Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has a reputation for being one of the toughest quarterbacks in the league, so when he was taken to the hospital and never returned to the Monday Night Football game against the Kansas City Chiefs, there was a reason for concern. Roethlisberger reportedly has a right shoulder separation, and it doesn't look good. He was taken to the hospital for a MRI. Per Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, the shoulder separation that Roethlisberger suffered was "unusual." "There's a lot to be figured out and we probably won't know anything definitive until the morning, but that's what the team doctor said," a NFL source said. The Steelers are concerned that Roethlisberger will miss a few weeks, which includes two games against division rival Baltimore Ravens.

He probably won't be able to meet gals in the bathroom for a while. A shame.

A lot of this depends on if the shoulder was dislocated or subluxed instead. A subluxed shoulder will rehab much faster than the other. If it was dislocated, you have to hope that the joint capsule wasnt damaged too badly. A torn labrum or rotator cuff muscle would possibly mean surgery and ir for the season.
Lets hope for the best. Good luck Ben.

Roethlisberger has a reputation for being one of the toughest quarterbacks in the league. Not until he gets that shoulder popped back in, goes back in the next play and throws a TD like Stafford did last year. Until then he doesn't get that distinction.

Stafford's injury was to his non throwing arm, slight difference. Want to tell me about all the qbs who finished a game with a broken nose?

Just how "separated" is this shoulder? It can't be a big deal, Rothlisberger has super-human healing abilities, which only start to degrade when the Steelers start to lose. Wondering what Vegas is giving his odds of playing this weekend... off to check that out, but suspect it is the same as usual...
