Coughlin calls out Manning: 'Terrible,' 'foolish'

07:56 AM ET 11.13 | That he's helped earn the coach two Super Bowl titles hasn't earned Eli Manning much slack from Tom Coughlin. [With] Manning now stuck in an inexplicable five-game slump and playing like the often dreadful pre-elite Eli in back-to-back losses to the Steelers and Bengals, the Giants' annual second-half slump came with a new twist Monday: Coughlin is so frustrated that he used the words "terrible" and "foolish" in talking about Manning. ... Manning was asked how he handles being talked about either as an MVP candidate or as someone whose right arm is falling off. Actually, the reports were that he has a tired arm, which he and Coughlin deny. "You just trust your skills. You trust your past experiences," Manning said.

Did you see the picture of Eli looking over his flooded basement? Yeah, it's hard to feel bad for a guy whose basement is large enough to float a Nimitz-class carrier, but still, that's gotta suck.

I'll bet he's staying in one of his other basements while that's getting cleaned up. Boo hoo.

And yes, of course he has insurance...

Maybe Eli should call out Tom!

It's what happens when you have no running game. It's all on Eli to carry the offense. Same as last year, only last year he had the magic; this year he's just mortal.

Note to Cam: When you start feeling sorry for yourself again, just remember that the pressure of being the starting QB in New York would crush you like a grape. I don't disagree that Manning is not playing well right now, but the guy is the reigning Super Bowl champ and MVP. Somebody ought to be kicking Coughlin's ass right now.
