08:18 AM ET 11.13 | So much for a quiet week leading into TCU's showdown with Texas. That's what coaching speculation will do to you, although [Gary Patterson] was quick to quell that Monday. According to reports, Patterson is either a frontrunner or a leading candidate for the soon-to-be-vacant job at Arkansas. ... Patterson shot down Arkansas talk quickly Monday during the Big 12 teleconference. "I don't think there's anything to that," Patterson said. Even if there were, Patterson wouldn't be talking about it. He's trying to get TCU ready for the game at Texas. It will mark the first time the Horned Frogs (6-4, 3-4 in Big 12) have taken over the Thanksgiving spot opposite Texas (8-2, 5-2) that had been occupied by Texas A&M.

He has cute chic's following him around on the sidelines at TCU....No reason to leave that.

Given his accomplishments in getting TCU to the BXII, should he wish to leave, it'll likely be for whatever opportunity he'd like to pursue. That might be Ark, but there's no reason to decide quickly... I suspect they'd be happy to let him take his time if he is truly considering this move.

I said yesterday me thinks he'll have the opportunity to take a 3 hour moving drive straight down I-35 in a year or so.

If this is real and has been mentioned even in an offhand way to Patterson, he has to think that would be his ideal end destination... IMHO anyway...

Why would he want to go to Arkansas? Story on CNN this morning reports there is a movement in Arkansas to secede from the Union again...if you secede from the Union, you secede from the SEC, right?....

Off topic, but it looks like the Big 12 was reading my posts yesterday.

As usual, hunt for the space somewhere and delete it, if needed.

Pretty good chance of winning the NC every year if it's just them and Arky State.

Texas is also seceding. They only need 25,000 signatures
