Fehr factor kicking in to high gear

08:21 AM ET 11.13 | The momentum of a week earlier has given way to the reality that two sides aren't finding common ground on the key elements. Negotiating with someone as intelligent and canny as Donald Fehr is difficult at the best of times. The NHL is finding out that when it comes to tactics, one of Fehr's is to push the buttons of the guys on the other side of the table. What the league is seeing is Fehr at his absolute best. ... After months of playing the part of conciliator, Fehr is beginning to show his legendary teeth. And that's probably not a good sign for anyone who hopes to see the NHL in action in the foreseeable future. The more the NHLPA rattles the league's cage, the more emotional this dispute is going to become.

Fehr factor kicking in to high gear

I'd pay to see Joe make him eat maggots and grasshoppers.

To those of you who need a simplistic, kindergarten view of the world, and therefore have come to the conclusion that Bettman is the only one to blame in this fiasco:

OK, so how is this aspect of the stalemate "All Bettman's fault"?

With media coverage like this it's easy to see why the Buttgoblin is seen as the sole reason we aren't watching hockey yet. I haven't seen a puff-piece this one sided since the last story about Obama.

Donald Fehr is a P O S. He was bent on torching this season when the players foolishly hired him and he is making it happen.

We rag on the **** but, let's take a closer look at the Fehrer. He always looks like he's been baptized in vinegar and drinks pickle juice for breakfast.

We rag on the Poison Dwarf?????

I respectfully disagree Rex. While I (and many others) can't stand the Buttgoblin we're not blind or stupid. Just because we think he's a little weasel doesn't mean we support Donny Boy.

Most of us never liked him before the lockout.

I'm no occupy type and I hate rich people Rex. But only because I'm not one! I agree with your characterization of Fehr and I said months and months ago that a lockout was inevitable and became so when he was hired. The Dwarf is also to blame becaause he really makes no effort to explain any of his "positions" and is is a fairly arrogant weasel. Fehr is no bette taht's ture. But, at this point NO ONE is winning................players, owners and especially us.

Wow.........I can't type this morning. That should be Fehr is "no better that's true"
