Vikes draw ire of Minnesota governor

08:05 AM ET 11.14 | Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton had a few words for the state's football franchise on Tuesday. Dayton, one of the chief proponents in pushing a $975 million stadium bill through the legislature last summer, sent a strongly-worded letter to team owner Zygi Wilf on Tuesday threatening to undo the stadium deal if the team uses PSLs as a way to fund its portion of the cost -- in Dayton's mind shifting the responsibility to the fans. "I strongly oppose shifting any part of the team's responsibility for those costs onto Minnesota Vikings fans," Dayton wrote. "This Private Contribution is your responsibility, not theirs. I said this new stadium would be a 'People's Stadium,' not a 'Rich People's Stadium.' I meant it then, and I mean it now."

I said this new stadium would be a 'People's Stadium,' not a 'Rich People's Stadium.'

The Governor really doesn't understand NFL Economics 101, does he?

Governor Goofball is at it again. Once again, he was probably loaded when the negotiations were going on. We Minnesotans are so proud.

Hey, you stupid pol, you wanted the taxpayers to pay up front for a stadium. Typical government official - using someone else's money to fund your pet projects. What did you expect? Did you put "No PSLs" clauses in the bill to fund the stadium? If not, then just shut up because there's nothing you can do now if you were that stupid back then.

Aren't PSLs almost a given for any new stadium being built now???

November 14, 2012  08:29 AM ET

The "ire" should come from Minnesota taxpayers who don't watch football, but are paying for this stadium anyway.

actually...it would be a republican view that Wilf should pay for the stadium he is going to use to make a lot of money....although, it would be a dem view to not screw over the "little" people so that the rich white man can squeeze a few more bucks out of the business...

Yes, she is. I think she needs to remove her top to help her cool off.

Exactly. I hear what he's saying, but it's not realistic with the way things work these days.

It is up to the stadium "authority", not the team. Regardless, it is the future. Smaller stadiums, more luxury seating ( because you do not share that revenue with the visiting team) and the "average joe" priced out of attending the game on a regular basis.

That retro outfit would not flatter her as much as what she's wearing over to the right.
