Depleted T-Wolves looking at Pietrus, Howard

08:11 AM ET 11.14 | For some, Andrei Kirilenko's hustle play in a win over Dallas would be encouraging -- but the injury-riddled Timberwolves have to be careful these days without Chase Budinger. [Said Rick Adelman:] "There's a time and place for that and when we're up 8, don't do that." Don't do that particularly now that Budinger will not return until February at the earliest after famed surgeon Dr. James Andrews repaired the torn lateral meniscus in his left knee in Florida on Tuesday. His lengthy absence has the Wolves pursuing adding a free-agent wing player -- Mickael Pietrus and Josh Howard among the possibilities -- who'd accept the veteran's minimum the Wolves can offer and who can back up Kirilenko.

Tell you what I will make a call to Joe D and have him offer you Tay Prince for a bag of peanuts and a 2nd round draft pick from the Minnesota Lynx. That sounds about fair price.....l

They seem to collect random average wing players

Average wing players are better than what they had last year. They now have guys that buy into Adelman's system. They do have to find someone to take Bud's spot though. Can't keep playing with 9 guys every night and expect to win. That said, they are playing really well considering who they are missing.

You can have em Jack. Still never understood why teams keep names that have absolutely nothing to do with where they move. Lakes in LA? Please. You are more likely to find jazz in Utah. No booze, but maybe jazz?

Pietrus is at best a spotty player & Josh Howard who came into the league with so much potential and I'm sure is a nice guy, is damaged beyond repair. Neither is worth the time or the $$$$. If I were the Timberwolves Management , I'd take a shot at the D League. If nothing else I'd find a player that was actually hungry to be in the NBA. But that's just me.

Who is in the D league as of right now? I like the idea, but who is available? Arent these guys contractually obligated though to the team that sent them there? Itd be cool to get a loaner from Europe or D league like the soccer organizations do in regards to loaning/borrowing players.

Forget Josh Howard... They need Juwan...

Josh and pietrus are warm bodies, but I gotta say......There has got to be a young d leaguer out there that just needs a shotI'd much rather give a young guy who might be hungry a chance, rather than one of these 2 guys, whom we all know what they are at this stage

And that's why you aren't working for an NBA team.

rofl, if there were any good players they would have been picked up already

I have to admit that I have been impressed with the Wolves' hustle and drive despite the rash of injuries. This is a team that believes in Adelman's systems and themselves. They also are a much more intelligent bunch than the lunkheads that rode the bench last year. While I find the D League speculation interesting, for the short term, they do need to hang on until Love and Rubio return. This is a team with some promise that is definitely going through a rough patch.
