Big trouble for Butler

08:21 AM ET 11.14 | Indiana represented well Tuesday, just not for Butler. [Jeff Robinson, Dee Davis and Justin Martin] are transplants, shining in Xavier uniforms. Robinson and Martin attended Lawrence North High School, and they combined for 27 points in a 62-47 drubbing of the visiting Bulldogs. Davis (Bloomington South) smothered Butler's top offensive threat, Rotnei Clarke, as the host Musketeers rolled in what should have been a preview of Atlantic 10 Conference basketball. But if this was it -- and fortunately this one didn't count toward the league standings -- the Bulldogs are in big trouble. "Xavier was the better team," Butler coach Brad Stevens said. "Better playing, better coached, just better. Not even close."

It seems like all of the national writers picked Butler because they like the name and didn't actually scout the team. There is nothing substantially different from last year when they finished 5th in the Horizon League. With the upgrade in conference competition without an upgrade to the players, you will not be seeing Butler crack the middle of the Atlantic 10 until they start landing better players.
