08:23 AM ET 11.14 | A cancelled season, in the event the lockout comes to that end, would have immediate implications for the Panthers. If that's the case, there's a possibility Stephen Weiss might have played his final game with the Florida Panthers. Weiss, who has played in more games than anyone in franchise history, is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2013. Weiss will be in the final season of a six-year deal that averaged $3.1 million if the lockout ends and hockey begins again. If the season is lost, players will likely burn a year off their contract, making Weiss a free agent when the lockout eventually ends. Seriously, Miami Herald, I don't think any sports fan in South Florida is giving a rats ass about the Panthers this morning...

Oh there are some of us....of course we're still waiting for all the lockout BS to come to an end....someday....

And Weiss has always stated he wants to stay here....but time will tell, as with all things...

Memo To Weiss:

You might as well go to Europe. Unlike most of the NHLPA scabs over there, odds are you will be a permanent fixture on a European team. No NHL team will pay you $3.1 mil any longer.

GREAT NEWS this morning for the Jays Danny. It could not have been announced at a better time...I have a feeling that Burke will be reaching for the aspirin this morning. With the Argos marching towards the 100th grey cup and the Blue Jays becoming all the chatter and excitement...the longer this lock-out continues, even Leafs nation will be walking across the street to fill up the Skydome...(I still use the old name)
Go Jays Go
Arrrgoooos.
:-)

That would be a Weiss move on his part.

It's still better than what we had before. I just wish Stanton was included. Oh how I wish.

This effing lock out !!!!! I cannot possibly handle anymore basketball highlights on TSN in the am. Staying interested on a treadmill is hard enough without this garbage !!!! Tomorrow i may resort to just watching one of my Daughters horrible "say yes to the dress" shows on the pvr instead!!!

Unfortunately Toronto fans are wondering why the Jays would take a 68 win teams overpaid players to add to their 73 win team I would have spent that money on a few arms

November 14, 2012  01:14 PM ET

Don't those idiots at the Miami Herald proof read their stuff. The "writer" (using that term loosely)
use the same sentence twice at the end. Must too hot down south?

I believe there is a pretty good righty and a lefty in the deal...I also suspect that they are not done yet...which is a pretty good bet because they still need a new Manager. We're not knocking it anyways...Ok, Blue Jays, lets play ball.
