02:22 PM ET 11.14 | The Pittsburgh Steelers received some bad news on Wednesday about quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Additional testing on his injured right shoulder revealed a more significant problem, a partially dislocated rib. The injury even threatened Roethlisberger's life with the rib being dangerously close to pressing his aorta, according to Ed Boucette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Roethlisberger suffered the injury in a Monday night win against the Kansas City Chiefs. It was initially called a shoulder injury. He was taken to the hospital immediately after suffering the injury during the game, a rare move that revealed the team's level of concern. The Steelers have already ruled out Roethlisberger for Week 11, and reports Wednesday point toward an extended absence for the quarterback.

Not good....Ravens must be ecstatic with 2 out of 3 games against Leftwich.
So much for the "bring in Haley-dink and dunk offense to keep Ben healthy" idea....fail.

Didn't they say the same thing about Danny Amendola's injury? That it almost killed him? How similar were the injuries?
By penalizing defenders for head hits, has the league instead caused more upper-body contact and chest trauma?

Steelers have won 4 of the last 5 games Ben has missed. Don't count them out so quickly.
Just hold down the fort til Ben can get back.

I would be inclined to agree IF: Troy Polamalu, Rashard Mendenhall, Antonio Brown, Marcus Gilbert, David DeCastro were healthy and could be counted on. Do we even know about Ryan Clark yet?
And let's face - James Harrison is done. He can barely get out of his own way. They need Carter and Worlids and Spence back to contribute, too. Not gonna happen.
