Time for Pelini to leave Nebraska?

05:02 PM ET 11.14 | With Arkansas rumored to be in the running for his services, might it be a good time for Cornhuskers coach Bo Pelini to consider taking a job outside of the Big Ten? He could leave Nebraska on top if he's able to lead it to its first Rose Bowl as a Big Ten member, which is an amazing thing to say about a coach not every Nebraska fan is sold on. Auburn has been mentioned as a potential landing spot as well.

IF ND gets unfairly pushed out of the NC game and then goes to the Rose Bowl and punishes Nebraska as vengance, will he still be welcomed elsewhere?

I am surround by the Sea of Red right now,,, they tolerate me, for now,, but if my Irish play the Huskers in the Rose,, win or lose,, it could spell the end of Van.
No Notre Dame deserves better this season. Big Red is unworthy.

How can you call a team "left out", when they have a blemish on their record??? (Sorry SF, that was a softball my man).

Dear Coach Pelini:
It's been real and it's been fun, but it hasn't been real fun.
Sincerely;

FAMU I think this article was a plant by Osborne and the alums. Both of the named positions are steps down from his current gig. Why in God's name would you want either of those jobs? They are coffin stuffers.

I think Taylor Martinez has set the offense back. What has lacked is the other side of the pigskin. Pelini as a DC at LSU for God's sake and he came into cornland touting the blackshirts. Excepting for Suh's senior yr they have been the blackskirts.

Pelini is a crybaby who rubs everybody the wrong way. He doesn't like talking to reporters and he treats people like garbage. Nebraska football is EVERYTHING to the fans in the area and I think they are both growing tired of each other. Pelini prefers to coach/yell at kids on Saturday and hide the rest of the week. I'm sure the fans at Arkansas and Auburn are similar, but the fans in Nebraska are impatient and everywhere. They are skating by right now with weekly fourth quarter comebacks and the defense, which is Pelini's supposed bread and butter, looks mediocre. This isn't sitting well with many of the fans. Remember, this is a team that fired a 9-3 Frank Solich, who was hand-picked by Osbourne to succeed him and was a former Husker player.

Insightful Hoffa. Thx for sharing. FWIW Pelini was a hothead strong safety @ tOSU. I kind of thought he was a jackass then.

I still maintain that Auby and Arky are coffin stuffers. Definitely a step down from Huskerville.

Like El Indio did in Eastwood's "For a Few Dollars More," let me tell you a little parable: Once there was a football program who dreamed of being in the NC game. Knowing they had to always be at their best they looked at their current HC and thought "we can do better!" So, like little Anthony did in Twilight Zone, they wished away their HC into the cornfield and grabbed their dream guy. And the story ends happily ever after... or not. Because this football program has yet to get back to the level that it was under the HC in the cornfield! The football program in the parable is A) Nebraska, B) Michigan, C) Tennessee, D) Miami (Fla), E) Purdue, F) Minnesota, or G) All of the above.

November 24 is only ten days away!
Please don't lose another game so ND's victory over the Trojans is more noteworthy

True about Solich and the 9-3 record but in at least 3 of the games they won they won by 10 or less. That was because of Pelinie's D. He got more out of a bunch of mediocre players than I think anybody else could have. He IS a DC but not a HC.
