Providence star Vincent Council out 4-5 weeks

05:13 PM ET 11.14 | Providence guard Vincent Council is expected to miss 4-5 weeks due to a hamstring injury he sustained in Saturday's game against NJIT. Council averaged 15.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game last season.

Providence had already been ranked last in the Big East's preseason coaches' poll and Council's injury is yet another setback for the team. In addition to his injury, Kris Dunn will miss the start of the year while he recovers from shoulder surgery, and Ricky Ledo was ruled ineligible for the 2012-13 season by the NCAA.
