08:04 AM ET 11.15 | In the midst of a crumbling season, Rex Ryan took a stand Wednesday over a potentially divisive situation that saw Tim Tebow referred to as "terrible" by a teammate. [Ryan] delivered a pointed message in a team meeting Wednesday morning in response to a Daily News report that painted Tim Tebow's quarterback skills in a less-than-flattering light. Ryan told his players to support each other and refrain from anonymous criticisms after several of them made it clear that benching Mark Sanchez for Tebow is not the solution. ... "Did I address it? I absolutely addressed it," Ryan said of the meeting. "Because I think it's a cowardly thing. If you're not going to put your name to it, I think that's about as cowardly of a thing as there is."

"Did I address it? I absolutely addressed it. I agreed with," Ryan acually said of the meeting.

The players are right in what they said. Ryan is right in what he said. But the fact remains, Tebow has nothing to do with the 3-6 record.

That's the way I feel.....support Sanchez all you want, but ripping Tebow as terrible, when he hasn't really been given a shot....not good!

You guys do realize that we're turning Tebow into a martyr here, right?

Allow me, "Steve Dallas" to attach my name to it. Tebow sucks..... However that is not why the Jets suck. That's a different matter altogether.

Ryan is responsible for the atmosphere in Jets land. Tebow didn't ask to be traded to the Jets (who would?) yet they take their frustrations out on him. Bunch of punk cowards in my book.

Ok, I admit it. I called him terrible Tim. My father George W said never tell a lie so I also cut his tree down in the backyard just to make a statement!

What he does best is to keep his mouth shut and do his job (although the Jets don't seem to know just what that job is). The rest of these prima donnas need to look in the mirror if they want to find out why they keep losing. It's not because of a guy who gets maybe a couple touches a game.
