Marlins shopping Nolasco and Morrison, too

08:11 AM ET 11.15 | A defiant Jeffrey Loria defended Miami's blockbuster-in-progress deal on Wednesday, and the franchise may not yet be done dealing. Starting pitcher Ricky Nolasco also is available, based on what the Marlins have indicated to several general managers. The Marlins also are shopping Logan Morrison, who had been penciled in as the club's first baseman entering spring training. Their strategy is a reversal of last winter's, when they went on a shopping spree to build what the front office promised would be a playoff-caliber team to match their new, $515 million stadium, which was built largely with public funds. ... "The Marlins have lost pretty much all credibility with fans," Miami Commissioner Marc Sarnoff told the Associated Press.

They won't be getting much for either unless they're packaging Giancarlo "notnatS" too.

The commissioners and Loria screwed the taxpayers of Miami and I am sure brown sacks where pass out to all of them. Next year if you go to see the Marlins play you will be paying MLB prices to watch Triple A players play.

Not like it's a unique situation. The Royals have had guys like this for years (Grienke, Dye, Damon etc.), anybody worthwhile on the Expos in their final years you HAD to feel bad for, and as much as I hate to admit it, Roy Halladay was on a team that pretty much had no idea what it was doing for years before finally going to a team that clearly has no idea what it's doing.

The only Marlins games I am going to are the 3 when StLouis comes to town.
Maybe Loria should sit down with Cards ownership and they can show him how to run a successful business that is BOTH profitable and wins titles?!?
Loria screwed over ALL of Miami and South Florida big time. He will be lucky to see anyone show up next season unless it is to support the OTHER team.

I'm amused that you say that in past tense.
You did see that half-witted trade the Jays just made, right?

So..............Loria is a slime ball who suckered fans, taxpayers and the Commissioners? And, this is news why?

I don't blame you.
You'll look as half-witted as the Jays do if you start pulling your pud over the handful of crusty, ineffective, old, fragile and expensive players they just took off of Miami's hands.
The Blue Jays are trying to be Canada's Dodgers.

Blue Jays fans crack me up.
Every year I hear them tell me about how smart their front office is and how next year they're going off the charts. It's been going on for the last decade, yet they've remained a .500 ballclub in the bottom half of their division. This trade isn't going to change that.

I can't figure out why people think Jays got a steal. They effectively signed a group of free agents at market / above market rates and trade young talent to do it. Better next year maybe two but after that - worse for the deal especially if Johnson leaves or gets hurt
