Depleted Miami WR corps down to walk-ons

08:17 AM ET 11.15 | The Hurricanes could hardly afford to lose senior receiver Davon Johnson, who sustained a knee injury during practice Tuesday and is not expected to play Saturday. His total receiving yardage ranks third best on the team, behind Phillip Dorsett (648) and Rashawn Scott (512). Scott is suspended indefinitely. Wide receiver Allen Hurns, who broke his left thumb last Saturday, is expected to play with the proper wrapping or soft cast. Freshmen receivers Malcolm Lewis and Robert Lockhart are already out with season-ending injuries. That leaves Dorsett, freshman Herb Waters (five catches) and senior Kendal Thompkins (two catches) as the only healthy scholarship wide receivers available. Walk-on Garrett Kidd also could see playing time.

Why you got Alfred E. Neuman as your avi?

November 15, 2012  09:09 AM ET

I'll trade you some WR's for DT's, LB, and CB's.........

shut your pie hole.

Gruden is coming to UTK. I can't even write that with a straight face.

Hmmm, I may have to reconsider this game on the LUS Death-by-Avi-and-Name Pick'em Contest.

You guys ought to keep DD til that contract is up, from a financial point of view that is really the best option. Isn't he a pretty decent recruiter? Assuming so, you likely wouldn't suffer all that much more with another year with the guy. Use the interim time (assuming the L's keep piling up) to gunny up a replacement you really think can get it done.

I'm off to the dermatologists. Seems she doesn't like some of my "old man" spots.

Later losers.

I actually think there's a chance...Mortenson said on a local call show here yesterday that on a scale of 1-100, Gruden wouldn't even be at a 1 for the Arky job, but thought there was a chance he'd be interested in UTK since he started there/met his wife there.

Not a great chance, but a chance......would be fun to see how he did at Tenn.

FWIW, don't take the Petrino thing personally...just having fun pushing some buttons. I like the reactions from you, Tinny, and the other UTK'ers.
