08:19 AM ET 11.15 | For Jonathan Toews, the lockout has finally come to a head and he'll soon make a decision on heading to Europe. Even as several of his Chicago Blackhawks teammates have begun playing overseas, Toews has waited while negotiations between the NHL and the players' union on a new collective bargaining agreement have dragged on. With no end in sight to the lockout that began Sept. 15 and no formal talks scheduled, the captain is poised to join a European team. "It's always on my mind," Toews said Wednesday. ... "We'll see what happens the next couple of weeks. We're really getting to that point where enough is enough and if nothing happens, then decisions have to be made. We've hung tight long enough so we'll see."

Because the NHL and North American teams should be able to get players from anywhere in the world to play in our league for Lord Stanley's Cup, our entertainment, money for our rich guys, air time on our networks and fodder for our FanNation stuff. Everywhere else is, per se, not important and the folks there don't count. Thank God I'm not as parochial and narrowminded as you are! :-)

This really puts how much any of them care about the fans or employees making normal people wages. "Oh well, I guess I'll go play in Europe since there is nothing going on here." Have unions gotten to the point that the members have no say other than yea or nay following their fearless leaders negotiations? They give lip service knowing that they really have nothing to lose. One day both sides will realize that the fragile NHL was not all that important to the fans.. there is a lot of good hockey around town and I'm missing the NHL less and less.
