Famed mediator offers to settle lockout for free

[But] the Minnesota-based chief federal magistrate finds the current NHL work stoppage hitting closer to home. A Chicago Blackhawks fan from youth who has since converted to a supporter of his hometown Minnesota Wild -- a season-ticket holder since the team's inception -- Boylan just received his refund for this weekend's game against the Detroit Red Wings. ... Before the lockout began, Boylan didn't know how much time he devoted to watching the sport. Now, he's wondering why he even has cable. "I'd volunteer to do it for free," Boylan said in a telephone interview with ESPNNewYork.com. "I'd love to get this thing done."

Admirable sentiments, but this like everything else will fall on deaf ears.
I'd like to help the negotiations out as well, by making Fehr an Bettman duke it out Thunderdome style.
"2 Men enter, 1 Man leaves!" and the winner gets the spoils as it were. Anything but this perpetual crap of no hockey...

That may be the best idea I have heard yet. Not sure who would win that fight. One would think Fehr 'cause he's bigger and stronger probably. On the other hand the Dwarf is mean and fights dirty. I'd buy a ticket.

Because he's a fan, it's what they do. If he hadn't mentioned that he's a season ticket holder then maybe they would have actually paid attention to him.

Bettman will never allow a mediator into the negotiations. He will never give up the power needed to make a deal. Keep in mind this is work stoppage #3 under Gary Bettman and let's not forget and Donald Fehr is no angel himself. He is personally is responsible for the strike in 1994 that cost the Montreal Expos a chance to win the World Series that year and put an end to the chance they could save the Expos. You can argue that he is not in control and his players are giving the orders but you have two guys in charge that will wait until hell freezes over before they accept anything!
