08:22 AM ET 11.15 | One of the NHL's fastest players has finally made his decision to bolt North America. On the 60th day of the NHL lockout, Jason Chimera became the seventh Capital to head overseas. Chimera agreed to a deal with HC Chomutov in the Czech Extraliga that will allow him to return to North America whenever the lockout ends. The veteran winger was one of only a handful of players who remained in the Washington area over the past two months and was happy to spend extra time with his wife and two young children. After weeks of practices, though, Chimera decided it was time to play games again according to his agent, Allan Walsh. "There have been some other offers that have come his way, but I don't think he was ready to go earlier."

60 days in and another player off to Europe.
eventually this trickle will become a flood, and some, if not many of the departed players may not return, which is fine for all the stars and mid level players, but you have to realise this is just a small portion of the league as a whole. Not only does this burden these stars, but also all the lower tier players, the players that are trying to break through from the minors; not to mention all the on-ice staff, concession staff, cleaning crews, security et al that this is jeopardizing as well. The stars aren't so much suffering from this continual calamity, but these good hard working folks that live on the periphery are.
While I don't mind this sort of news. its just become an everyday occurrence and now, i'm more numb to it than anything.
That being said, Good Luck to Mr. Chimera, I hope to see you at the PNC Arena getting the snot knocked out of you by my 'Canes before professional hockey becomes a non-issue in North America.
If that hasn't already happened, that is.

What happened to RBC Center? Did RBC fold down there?

Yeah, RBC Centura shut up shop in the US, and the RBC was rebadged as PNC Arena last March. all of their banking locations around here were taken over by PNC Bank as well.

We're ahead of you by one bank. The Flyers new arena started out as the CoreStates Center, then it changed to the First Union Center (have fun with those initials :) and is now the Wells Fargo Center.

I had forgotten that! I wish it had stayed First Union Center. Somehow that seems more appropriate. :-)

It was very appropriate when the teams were playing poorly ;)

No, that's just the newest concession stand. Interestingly enough, the holes in the cheese are large enough for a puck to pass thru.
