12:43 PM ET 11.15 | The Baltimore Ravens announced on Thursday that cornerback Jimmy Smith received a succusseful groin surgery in Philadelphia, and is expected to be back before the end of the season. Smith originally hurt his groin in the Ravens' week six victory over the Dallas Cowboys, but did not miss any playing time prior to last week. Smith planned to play last week against the Oakland Raiders, but experienced tightness during the pregame warmups and did not enter the game. Baltimore already lost corner Ladarius Webb with a torn ACL, so the Ravens could ill-afford a season-ending injury to the second-year player out of Colorado. Smith's status for Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers was already in question before the surgery, so it appears likely he will be inactive against Pittsburgh.

Play more cheerleaders. Actually if a network would only let the talking heads comment during the game while they were showing the cheerleaders ratings would go up.
