Should the Charlotte Bobcats be taken seriously?

05:38 PM ET 11.15 | In 66 total games last season, the Charlotte Bobcats set a new benchmark for futility in the NBA by winning just seven of those contests, which equaled out to a .106 winning percentage. Through the first seven games of the 2012/13 season, the Bobcats have a record of 4-3. They are just three victories away from tying their win total from all of last season. Am I missing something here? I'm not downplaying Charlotte's early success at all. I didn't see it coming. None of you did either.

If the Bobcats go from 7 wins to let's say 35, I think Mike Dunlap should get Coach of the Year.

The Cavs should be considered before the Bobcats.

I hate to say this, but I'm not giving up on the cats. Now I'm not saying there better than the heat, I mean, we killed them in our last season home games. But still, to see these newbies defeat the mavericks in OT plus the timberwolves and top division teams, I think the cats might for once have some spirit in themselves. As far as we know, they were one game away from knocking the heat off 1st, until we beat the nuggets. But still, it's early. Lets see what happens Saturday.

But before we make high or low assumptions, we should be reminded that the cats nevered played as bad as last year. From '08-'10, they averaged about maybe 35-40 wins. But '11, they acted like Indianapolis colts without Peyton playing. If they want to improve their game, they have to beat the grizzlies this Saturday. If they do, well, like I said before, it is too soon to tell. But as of now, if they want to at least be considered serious enough to be credited for their work, they have to continue strentghing and maintaining that division lead gap between the hawks and heat.
