03:40 PM ET 11.15 | BYU has set up a series with another former conference rival, adding UNLV to the schedule for 2014 and 2015. As questions about BYU's independence continue to spring up, especially in light of the Big East's inclusion in the new playoff plan, the Cougars appear to be staying the independent course for now.

What they were firming up were the easy "W's" If they are down to UNLV for h&h, the rest of their schedule must be suspect. I doubt the Domers will keep BYU on their schedule when they have to play all those ACC games. BYU is a long way from any BCS or playoff consideration. BYU's 1984 13-0 co-national championship season will likely be their high-water mark. They beat a (then) 6-5 Michigan team in the Holiday Bowl. The teams they beat finished with a combined record of 51-79-2.... the computers wouldn't have thought much of the Cougars!
