07:30 AM ET 01.21 | Before quarterback Carson Palmer went public with his call for changes on the Bengals coaching staff, he aired his feelings privately with head coach Marvin Lewis. "Our quarterback communicated to (the media) we weren't satisfied," Lewis said. "As he and I talked the Friday before the Miami game, we're not satisfied. He and I together will do everything we can to fix it, along with everybody else in this building."

A Bengal player unsatisfied? Why is this not on the front page of every paper in the country? The **** coach indicates that they're going to do 'everything the can to fix it?' Well, that's a change, at least. Normally, head coaches say, "we're going to lackadaisically and apathetically approach this, at least until it blows over."

what, someone had to go tell marvin, "you know ricky hunley should have never been hired b/c most of the bengals fans hate him for something he did 20 yrs ago. " marvin, really needed someone to say that?

Well at least Carson is showing some signs of leadership by telling the coach that his players are thirsty for leadership... Oh the irony. This has been local news for months now.

maybe the problem is the head coach and quarterback, not the assistant coaches. also maybe the offensive line. and the defense.

Marquee player one an NFL team, and 10 posts all day on this thread. If for no other reason than that, we know the Bengals are not exactly a fan favorite across America.
I think the start to the Bengals' healing will be when the ownership stops charging the players rent on their lockers, stops making them chip in for laundry costs, and gets them to road games on planes instead of in Winnebagos. Can you imagine being drafted? Noooooo! Your agent would be like, "we're going to Baja, Ohio. At least the pay sucks."

Carson Palmer reminds me of Troy Aikman when Barry Switzer was the coach of Dallas. A great QB with a very talented team but a coach that couldn't keep the team under control. The sad thing is that football careers don't last that long. A few more years and this team will be filled with a bunch of old guys.

When the players start directing the team, you KNOW the team's got problems. Looks like the cellar for the Bengals next year . . .

Oh, the Bungles will always be the Bungles. I have no idea how Marvin Lewis has held on to his job. This team has had so many off-field problems in the past four years, it is nothing but embarassing for the city. They also underachieve consistently. The players clearly don't fear Lewis and some have lost respect for him due to his soft stance with troubled players. They need new leadership beginning with Lewis, not the co-ordinators.

Carson Palmer is one of the special ones, a top tier quarterback. Yet his talent seems to be going to waste on a team that is going nowhere. Hope the Bengals ship gets righted and Carson gets the accolades he deserves.

pw- you are my hero of the day.
in any case, palmer's right. he's not the one to make a fuss out of nothing; he just wants to win, which is what you want from a quarterback. the front office better take note of this, and accommodate him, or else i fear the men in stripes won't be winning any trophies any time soon.
