J.R. Smith: from disgruntled star to invaluable sixth man

05:30 PM ET 11.15 | Back in October, New York Knicks shooting guard J.R. Smith made it clear that he wanted to be a starter this season. Smith wanted to shake the sixth man moniker and prove that he could be a legitimate starter in the NBA. After all, starters get all the playing time, important roles and glory. Right? Wrong. Smith has been invaluable as the sixth man for the Knicks. Without him, the Knicks would not be sitting on a 5-0 record right now. Smith is averaging 18.2 points and almost 34 minutes per game. Only Carmelo Anthony averages more for the Knicks. If you looked solely at the numbers, you would think that Smith is a starter. He is certainly playing like one.

Nice comeback last night. In fact I turned the tv off after Chandler fouled Spliter on the 3 point play lol. The Knicks is proving that they don't need Amare. If they don't trade Amare, he is gonna mess up the chemistry

QUOTE(#4):

Didn't I tell everyone a while back (specifically SD) to get their laughs in regarding the Knicks while they still could? Well, now you can put those jokes in your pocket. Save them for a rainy day because its sunny in NYC now.

Yes you did Doc and I remember it clearly...big ups bro......Apple!

Now on to the business at hand.

A lotta thes cats are thinking, and wondering why the Knicks ain't stinking. They're saying the Knicks are winning rather auspiciously, but I say the winning rather magnificiently. You have Melo even when missin, rebounding and auspiciously dishin, when Chandler is pounding and rebounding, pumping his chest and sounding.

Then you have JR Smith, not creating a riff, but making shots that makes the diff, teams leave the 3pt line open indeen, not knowing we got gunners, Novak, Brewer and Sheed. Cats are sayin the Knicks run will soon be ova, but thats what that cat was sayin named Hova (JayZ).

Then you have cats that was speaking of the Knicks very ill, now they clapping and goes by the name of Lostwill. Sayin when we lost J Love a bad blow was dealt, I still wondering if he still feels that way cause we got the cat named Raymond Felt, fabulous no looks & crossovers, are constantly being dealt. Apple and I'm out!
