Rodgers trying to save college coach's job

If Rodgers wants to help he needs to send the Packer players to Berkeley.

Rodgers has a point, at the same time cal has terribly underperformed as of late.

Peyton and Ely are Cutcliffe boys. When Peyton was out at Indy and awaiting a new contract offer, he worked out at Duke.

Hard to be competitive when all the talent is either heading to the north(Quacks) of you or to the south(USC, UCLA).

Good point, but Cal is like Stanford, it's pretty hard to get into, grade wise.

The key is that Tedford needs as much distraction as possible prior to this Saturday. Throw in the towel and give up Bears. Have a lay down this weekend... Go Beavers!

I haven't paid much attention to Cal. What is a realistic expectation for them? I don't remember the last time they were in the Rose Bowl. If they enforce the same admission standards on their athletes as the rest of the student body, it is unlikely they will ever be more than an also ran.

I think 8-9 wins a year is realistic for the bears. Drop in a 10 win season every few. Expect some 5-6 win seasons every few. Then again, that's pretty much the same expectation for most of the PAC.

To me this sounds optimistic. At the moment the lines are drawn in the sand, its clear who the haves and have-nots are in the pac...and at least for the forceable future I dont see Cal being very competitive.

Thanks. There are a lot of boosters, administrators and fans who need to get a grip on reality. I wonder if that is true at Cal? I'm an unabashed Spartan fan. We seldom win the B1G, but we usually are competitive. This year is a little down. We've lost several close games. Hopefully, next year will be better.

Good point, as I think most students go to Cal for an "education"!!!!
