12:24 PM ET 11.16 | The New York Jets are in turmoil, more than usual as the team takes a 3-6 record into St. Louis for a Week 11 game against the Rams. Now, former players are lining up to take their shots at the team. Current Rams center and former Jets lineman Robert Turner told the media on Friday that the Jets were "the Cubs of football," perpetually struggling to win a championship and always waiting for next year.

The big difference is that people have fun at Cubs games, even if the team stinks.

I thought the same thing... Same City and All (But!!! The Browns went to Balt in '96 and did win there).

This article comes out of NY - so there you go with the Jets...

Just looked up teams that have either never been or never Won the Superbowl. Won't include teams like Carolina, Jax + Titans (expansion):

Atlanta, San Diego, Seattle & The Cards have been and never won...

Then you got the Lions that have never been (and have been horrendous for many of the years between Now and Never).

Not a fair assessment the current Cleveland Browns were born in 1999 while the Jesters have been around since 1960.

Eagles in 2020? I'm not sure if that's optimistic or pessimistic. (and this is from a Browns fan)

November 16, 2012  02:58 PM ET

That's a real insult. To the Cubs.

November 17, 2012  08:43 AM ET

Strategy seemed sound, a sweater vest and chinos should have had the opposition laughing so hard you could simply walk into the end zone!

November 17, 2012  10:36 AM ET

Does look like Rex has been on a diet

November 17, 2012  11:55 AM ET

Maybe he has vowed to not eat until they win.

November 17, 2012  12:19 PM ET

Wow! It can't get any worse than being compared to the Cubbies and not even have a goat curse to blame.

November 17, 2012  12:29 PM ET

One of the big differences is that people outside of Cubs fans want to see them win a championship. Who in the heck would want to see this dysfunctional Jets organization win anything?
