Kahn unconcerned about Roy's injury struggles

03:11 PM ET 11.16 | The Minnesota Timberwolves took a big risk in signing Brandon Roy this summer, and so far, it hasn't paid off. The former Trail Blazers star is averaging just 5.8 points per game and has missed the team's last three games with a sore knee. As Roy continues to struggle, the criticism will only grow louder. However, general manager David Kahn remains unconcerned, saying the team would be naive to expect Roy's return to go perfectly smoothly. "Absolutely (we expected bumps in the road)," Kahn said. "We were very clear last summer that we didn't expect everything to be issue-free. We didn't expect the opposite. We went into it not knowing what to expect. So, I don't think that anything that has occurred up to this point could be considered surprising."

B. Roy is the typical NICE guy. Like was athletes he couldn't stay away but for so long. I know his money is right and he's fairly young. Can't say I would have made the same move, but then I remember when my idol Magic came back for his HIV induce retirement after a short period of time. The only cure is to get it out of your system and get on with your life. The fact that someone other than Portland took a chance on speaks volumes. Hope B. Roy can get just enough of what made him dangerous back so that he can at least be relevant, for his sake if no for the T-Pups.

I predicted this would be said, the moment this signing went public. All things considered, it wasn't a stretch at all. Ray Charles could have seen this coming. I'll say now what I said back then, "Why would anyone sign Brandon Roy to any contract at all?" He effectively threw his rehab in the toilet when he decided to come back (with Portland) before he was fully recovered. Everyone told him it was the wrong thing to do and he did it anyway. I don't care how nice of a guy people think he is; coming back before he was ready was a stupid, selfish move. It's just unfortunate that with Kahn at the helm, Minnesota has to suffer for it.
