Browns WR Cribbs wants out of Cleveland

06:48 PM ET 11.16 | The Cleveland Browns are a franchise in turmoil, and they kind of have been since they came back to Cleveland in 1999. But as bad as years past have been, this season of ugly transition has to be up there with the 1995 season when there was angst and pain surrounding the team's move to Baltimore. There is no doubt that this Browns team is going to have a new face, and things could be bright in the future, but right now things couldn't be worse. Josh Cribbs, who was at one time the only recognizable name on the roster, has had enough and wants out of Cleveland per a source -- that source being Cribbs' own words. In talking to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Cribbs did his best Keyshawn-Johnson-give-me-the-damn-ball impression.

Well he was in fact BETTER than the Chicago returner Devin Hester. When everyone was making such a big deal about Devin, Cribbs had better numbers. Cribbs gives 110% EVERY play he is out there. However, when they tried to give him more offensive snaps, his return numbers went down (just like Hester's did) and he did not become a true WR. I think if you had a "creative" coach who knew how to use the players he has as opposed t making players fit the system, he could be a great weapon...not sure Shurmer is that coach.
Also, article is false. Cribbs in fact stated he'd like to stay in Cleveland and retire there, however he is frustrated with lack of opportunities he has gotten on offense WHILE the team is losing. So saying he WANTS out is another SI pathetically researched writer reaching to make a storyline.
It is Cribbs final year of his contract, he is frustrated with ONLY being a return guy and lack of opportunity to grow offensively and show what he can do. But his numbers on returns are up. I think it just that he realizes that he gets paid better and is more valuable if he is an offensive weapon and not just a return weapon. He wants an opportunity. seven games left in a losing season....might as well give him some shots I think.
