11:23 AM ET 11.17 | A.P. has heard plenty of chatter about his ACL and MCL, but his YDS, YCO and OMG production are trending toward MVP. In a pass-prevalent league ruled by marquee quarterbacks, Adrian Peterson is building a case to become the first NFL running back since San Diego's LaDainian Tomlinson in 2006 to win the sport's most valuable player award. The odds are more discouraging than the eight- and nine-man fronts the Vikings' punishing ball carrier routinely has shredded racking up an NFL-leading 1,128 yards rushing through 10 games, a 5.8-yard average that has Peterson on pace for a career-high 1,805.

If he keeps this up and the Vikings make the playoffs, it's a possibility! He's had an amazing year!

If he keeps it rolling at the current pace, I don't see why not. Then again as previously stated, the playoffs would have a big impact.

I don't know can AD break the RB MVP drought? Who is AP? I know who AD is, its that awesome RB from the Minnesota Vikings, his name is Adrian Peterson, his nickname is AD (which is short for All Day), as in how long he will outwork the competition.
Why the EFF cannot the St. Paul get it effing right? AD.
And on another note, see number 9 above. The date is November 17, 2012 and creepy has made an intelligent comment which (somewhat at least) is germane to the topic. Miracles never cease. Creepy, how are you?

I doubt he will win the MVP, but he must be rewarded for such a fantastic bounce back from injury. Between him and Peyton, is this the closest race ever for comeback player of the year?

#13. The opposing teams have been stacking the box, most teams are play 8 or even 9 in the box and he is still rushing like an animal. Peyton is definitely doing a great job, but he is not running around on his neck, AP is pounding that restructured knee and still going strong.
