Jay Bruce wants to be a Red forever

01:40 PM ET 11.17 | Jay Bruce is already signed through 2016, but some reports suggest that he wants to add even more years to the deal. He's already a two-time All-Star and may not even be at his peak yet. But what might an extra six years mean for the Reds? Locking in a young star now for the extreme long-term might be smart to ensure he stays a Red, but he's already shown a few signs of regression. Having the piece of mind of Bruce in the lineup at a controlled cost works for the Reds. It seems it may work for Bruce as well.

Jay you are forgetting who you are playing for a small market team, so there is no way the Reds will give you an extension beyond 16.

They locked up Votto and Phillips long-term so apparently money is available.
