R.A. Dickey's future with Mets not just about money

The media is conflicted about how those negotiations should take place, but Dickey isn't a conventional pitcher and talks aren't going the conventional way. If you take what Dickey has said at face value, it's clear that he wants to stay, and it's clear that he isn't after every last penny. It goes beyond just the cash value of a deal.

A fan can dream.
I don't know why they don't grow more of them. One decent knuckleballer in the starting rotation screws up the opposition. It also guarantees a pitcher a long career - something that can't be said about a flamethrower. It should be a regular part of the game.

Well the Sox have some pretty pennies to spend if he wants them. I agree that a knuckle-baller presents a challenge to the hitters. Also think there will be more knuckle ballers coming up because of Dickey and Wake.

the guy its 38 years old as a results this pitcher has very little time to be able to get a long term deal, but two years should be right in either direction, remember lets be less greedy and more passionate about the game...
