02:59 PM ET 11.17 | Alabama Crimson Tide running back recruit Derrick Henry solidified his place in high school football history on Friday by breaking one of the nation's longest standing records. During a state playoff game against Taylor Country, the Yulee High senior tailback galloped for a 52-yard touchdown that broke Ken Hall's national rushing record. Hall set the record as a running back for Sugar Land during from 1950-53. Henry finished the game with 482 yards and six touchdowns. "Couldn't have been a better night," Henry said. "It'll probably be emotional when I get home, step back and realize what I just did." The Alabama recruit is now the holder of high school football's career rushing record with an incredible 11,612 yards. Earlier in the season, Henry broke the Florida state single-game record with 502 rushing yards in a single outing.

Im guessing he failed a class or two.

Seriously though, it is kinda weak that this dude set the record as a fifth year senior. Not the same.

For what its worth, I had read that he was recruited as an athlete, not as an rb because at bama he will probably play LB.

I find it kinda sad that a physical monster like that, able to put up the numbers that he did, could be convinced to join up a program like Bama under condition that he change position. I understand that his end-game is most likely to make the nfl...but I just find something sad in that.

Let's see if ND can avoid losing to a poor U$C team. New ND QB can make some plays vs Rees. Rees has to play, ND goes down.
