08:45 PM ET 11.17 | Former Heisman Trophy front-runner Matt Barkley was knocked out late in USC's loss to UCLA, and word is his injury could damage the Trojans' chances against Notre Dame as well. It's reportedly a shoulder separation, so we'll have to wait and hear more regarding its severity.

The way he's been playing the last few weeks, not sure how much damage it actually does to our chances to knock off the domers.

If Barkley is out for the ND game, that would really stink.

Yep.

ICE, who is next up if he's out?

Witteck is the next guy up. Solid kid with a terrific arm. Not alot of experience, but he can definitely play. We will see how it goes.

NOT NOW!!! NOT THIS TIME!!

IF Barkley is going to sit and watch it from his Moms basement again, then to make the game fair I propose we play Tommy the turnover Kid for the whole game. Just to be fair.

That might just be the thing your boys need, something to rally around, and play a better game than they would have otherwise. Ya never know.

ND is the #1 team in the land....wow! This has been a long time coming. So do we still need to join a conference to get to the big game boys and girls?

hate to see anyone injured-part of the game-he definetly lost big $-eifert and teo came back which surprised me big time-glad they did as it looks now-im not sure of the sc fans screen name who likes to remind us that barkley did not play in 2010 when nd won-like i said above injuries are part of the game-i believe usc has capable back ups-nd has won all its games and have an oppurtunity to play for the NC game-they have to take care of business in LA this sat-they better be focused because we all know usc has upset nd in the last game of the year to take nd out of the winning championships-i know not lately-the irish control their own destiny-GO IRISH

ND is winning next week no matter who SC uses at QB! Too bad if Barkley is seriously injured, seems like a nice kid.
By the way, anyone else noticed how quiet Sandy has been in the last couple of weeks? Gone into his cave to hide and sulk, or perhaps his handlers have put him back in the locked ward?

I hate USC, but I would never wish for the kid to get injured. I hope he gets healthy soon.

Go Irish!

Hey, where's OT? I don't want him to forget that bet we made.

Too bad for Barkley as he seems like a nice young man from a great family and passed up money to come back to USC. Bet he lost millions in this years draft already and has dropped 25 places or so.

Well, glad to see he escaped your frying pan! Yes Matt seems like a fine young man (apart from his regrettable choice of college). It has been a rough year for the kid.

he just learned the same lesson as leinart. too bad, but when your number is called its probably most resonable to move on to the show. The money wont be waiting forever and USC always have a few decent guys waiting to take his place.

Take a heck of a hit yesterday, poor kid got clobbered.

QUOTE(#13):

USC might be better off without Barkley and rely more on a running strategy to open up things for Woods and Lee in the open field. Not sure if Kiffin knows enough about football strategy to do this though. Hey Lane call me for the game plan. Kayla has my number.

anything becomes possible if we put it on paper...doesnt mean itll happen. And I dont really see in what way USC would be ahead by trying to run on ND. We will see though, I suppose.

Things not looking so good for USC next week. Bet Irish.
