10:14 AM ET 11.18 | OK, God, this is only going to add to the certainty of Notre Dame fans that you have conferred most favored university status on their school. First, the undefeated Fighting Irish require less than a half of a football game to wipe out overwhelmed Wake Forest. Then, USC loses to UCLA, which means undefeated Notre Dame will face a depressed Trojans team in its regular-season finale. If that's not enough, USC loses quarterback Matt Barkley to what is believed to be a shoulder injury. Finally -- and this is where the divine intervention talk will move into flat-out silliness -- Baylor upsets BCS No. 1 Kansas State by the ridiculous score of 52-24, and No. 2 Oregon loses to Stanford 17-14 in overtime. When the next rankings come out, Notre Dame will be No. 1 in the country, with a clear path to the national championship game. Don't you think that's a little much for one Saturday, Big Guy? I mean, at least you spread creation over six days.

this article made me chuckle. It is ridiculous when you think of everything that happened yesterday. Im a bit surprised by Oregon, but to me it seemed obvious that a proper D would really upset what we thought we knew about them. Balor beating K State, and by such a huge margin...never in a million years would I have thought. Barkley getting hurt sucks for the kid, but from a football perspective it really hurts USCs chances next week.

My goodness, Notre Dame v Alabama has all the makings for highest tv ratings of all time.

Yeah, but ND can't get too excited until they beat USC. I have been around a long time and have seen quite a few "bizarre" USC/ND games. I still say that all the pressure is on ND in Los Angeles this coming weekend, as USC has nothing, absolutely nothing to lose. The Notre Dame game is USC's season!!!!

OT, other than the historical games you reference, what leads you to believe than the Trojans could beat the Irish this year? Especially if Barkley doesn't play.

I sure don't want to watch a ND/Bama NCG. Now ND/Georgia might be good. Quite a few people are counting Georgia out and there will probably be 5/6 teams with one loss. What makes most people think that Bama is a "shoo-in"????
