09:26 AM ET 11.18 | Mike Piazza is rediscovering ancestral roots in Italy and helping to make baseball relevant there. Piazza is the hitting coach for the Italian National Team that won the European Championship this year. He will serve as hitting coach for Team Italy in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Piazza, 44, would like to return to the majors someday in some capacity and continues to keep the lines of communication open with the Mets and Jeff Wilpon.

If a roider like McGwire can be a hitting coach, I guess Piazza can, too.

The Post is just laying the groundwork for future rumors about who is going to replace the some Mets coach. Those stories are scheduled to begin as soon as the Mets lose 4 games in a row.

the majority of managers who ussually make any team arise had been catchers, and more catchers, managers or hitting coaches this catchers have the ability to bring up any team WHO had been under 500% piazza should get a oportunity within time in the future,,

He might very well succeed as an MLB manager. It seems to me some of the better managers in baseball over the years have been former catchers, eg.; Sciosia, Bochey, Torre.
