10:09 AM ET 11.18 | Let everybody else be surprised at what happened to second-ranked Kansas State on its way to a chance to play for its first national championship. Nick Florence and the Baylor Bears aren't. "All week we believed we were going to beat them and if we did we weren't going to be surprised when it happened," said Florence, Baylor's successor to Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III. "I don't know if I would call it getting smacked in the mouth, but they took it to us," Kansas State coach Bill Snyder said. "I really thought we prepared well, but as we found out, we didn't. I don't think we handled the situation as well as we should have been able to." Collin Klein and the Wildcats (10-1, 7-1) can still get to a BCS game as the Big 12 champions. Getting to the BCS championship game is all but lost. "Anger, frustration, obviously disappointment," Wildcats tight end Travis Tannahill described his feelings. "Confused. We just don't know what went wrong. We had a good week of practice. We felt prepared, everything we've done the last 10 games."

Yep, you forgot to get your offense off the plane. Teams score 24 points on Baylor during warm up.
..and your defense looked like they were running in mud. It is not like K-State hadn't seen good spread offenses this year...and stopped them, i.e. Okie Lite, Texas Tech, WVa, etc.
They finish 10-2 after losing to the rusty cows.

Time to get a new drawing board. You'll still get a good bowl, though.

Yup...but, somehow, they are still ranked ahead of FSU in the AP poll. We lost to NC State by ONE point. KSU gets absolutely effin' humiliated by Baylor, and they're still three spots ahead of us. Yeah...that seems fair.

EWO, how about this? Florida's only loss came against Georgia. The Gators should be ranked ahead of Bama, until Bama can prove what they can do against Georgia in the SEC CG. Florida loss to Georgia (#3), beat LSU (#8), beat Texas A&M (#9) and beat South Carolina (#13), where Bama beat LSU (3*), lost to Texas A&M (#9) and beat Michigan (#20). Florida has the best SOS up to this point of the season. Now if FSU can beat Florida then, FSU will have something to say about their position in the polls.

LOL, and you think Bama is any more "livelier"???

NONE of the 2-loss SEC teams belongs ahead of us. That's just unmitigated bias.
The Coaches poll, at least, has us at #5, which is about where we belong, IMO. We only lost by one damn point! I'm not saying we belong in the NCG, but ranking ANY team with 2 losses ahead of FSU, is a blatant slap in the face.

I agree, "NO" two loss team deserves to be ranked ahead of a one loss team in the polls. I'm not a Gator fan, so I will be pulling for FSU to beat Florida. Actually I would love to see Georgia beat Bama in the SEC CG, but I bet the BCS would rank a two loss Bama team ahead of a one loss FSU team, even if it's not fair.

Of course they would...even if one of those losses was by 50 points against, say Kentucky, at home. The tried and true "They're STILL an SEC team," logic would rule the day.
The SEC is the best conference in the country, IMO...but this is getting REALLY ridiculous!

One of the best ways to resolve the above posts would be a playoff with 8 teams. Would a 4 team playoff this year resolve this? I don't think it would.
EWO, what do you think of the rumors Maryland going to the B!0, along with Rutgers? If it does happen, how about FSU and Clemson coming to the SEC?

Honestly, I liked being in the ACC. For outsiders, it lent a little academic credibility to Florida State, IMO. I also believe that it raised the profile of our basketball program, which we sorely needed at the time. But things have changed. NOW, our membership in the ACC is being used against us, at least where football is concerned.
In light of the current situation, I'd be happy to see my 'Noles join the SEC. We already have recruiting success in SEC territory, and belonging to the conference would only enhance that. I believe we'd be very competitive in that league, and I think Clemson would be a good fit as well.

Both teams would be a great addition. But this insanity has to stop sometime. I hope it does before the ACC is knocked down.
