11:06 AM ET 11.18 | Hall of Fame driver Richard Petty says NASCAR was "hypocritical'' in fining point leader Brad Keselowski for carrying a cell phone in his car last weekend at Phoenix. "I think it's hypocritical because he [did] it at Daytona, and then NASCAR had a big meeting with everybody and said, 'Oh! Man! That's great. Everybody go out there and do it just as much as you can.' And then they say, 'Whoo! You ain't supposed to do it in a racecar,' '' NASCAR's all-time win leader said on Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. "I don't think that was in the rulebook. I think they made that one up as they went.''

For sure this is typical hypocritical Nascar........but come on.....do they really need cell phones in the race car when they have enough communication equipment already?

For the record, I think fining Brad was totally wrong.......but they should make a ruling on this, one way or the other.

Easy to understand the hypocrisy though.......did anyone see the press conference yesterday by Brian France........now there is a person who needs to be tested for drugs.......he is mega stunnedand dopey.......with a big dab of stupid.....how could someone with that low a brain capacity ever remember one rule from one day to another.

JGB Brainchild strikes again -- I wonder how happy Coach Gibbs is with him after the last BS move?

at least johnsons problems at homestead(bad luck) didn't affect the outcome of the championship. Brad K would have won it anyways with his finish even if johnson would have won. Busch had already led the most laps ect.

I wonder if the "no tweeting" rule came to be because it wasn't on a Sprint/Nextel phone?
