Flacco available this offseason

08:04 AM ET 11.19 | If timing is everything, this would be a bad offseason to be looking for work as a quarterback -- mostly because it could be a crowded lot, beginning with the likely availability of Michael Vick, to the possibility of at least one Jets quarterback, one Cardinals quarterback and Ryan Fitzpatrick. The success of some of the quarterbacks could also put their backups in play, from Matt Flynn in Seattle to Matt Hasselbeck in Tennessee to Matt Moore in Miami, whose contract expires after this year. And if the Ravens decide to play chicken with Joe Flacco, opting not to use the franchise tag in the hopes that he won't get a better offer elsewhere, Flacco could be available if someone wants to outbid Baltimore.

Most of the quarterbacks listed hardly strike fear in the hearts of defenses.

All Flacco's done is take the dirty birds to the playoffs every year. I can understand why they wouldn't want to pay him. /sarcasm

Funny that they mention Matt Flynn. After all that hype, Seattle paid a lot of money for him to carry a clipboard.

I bet Tebow would get a lot more interest if he switched to full-time RB or TE. He wouldn't get the kind of money he wants to make, but he'd get a job.

November 19, 2012  08:32 AM ET

He's not going anywhere.

So where's that list of QB's that are available? I'd like to see it.

Flacco available this offseason

How much per hour? I've got a lot of yard work every spring, and we've had some storms that brought down trees. Does he have his own chain saw? We don't have a fireplace, so can we make a deal for the firewood?

To tag a player means you pay him the average of the top five at his position. Flacco is not in that group, so you can understand why the Ravens do not want to go down that road. He will get a fair offer from his team. He should take it.

Flacco's playing his best football and has been nothing short of great for the Ravens... they'd be fools to play around with him and risk him leaving to another team.

Another example of where a QB rallied the troops around him and the other guy became a hasbeen. I'm convinced all the rankor on the Jets is coming from Tebow cuddling up to a few guys to get them to support him and its causing divisiveness on the team.
The Jets should dump him now.

I know... I know.... have the 'Skins trade RGIII to the Ravens for Flacco and the Raven's Offensive Line... + a 1st round, 2nd round, and a couple of 3rd round picks in 2012....

November 19, 2012  09:59 AM ET

I don't see any Superbowl winners on that list.

It's a list of pending free agents. Isn't that exactly what you would expect?

Thats the craziest one...starter money for a 1 game performance then he gets beat in camp by a rookie. SMH...nice job GM

Flacco doesn't deserve top five money. Probably more like Philip Rivers money.

I support what Seattle did in getting Matt Flynn.
