08:19 AM ET 11.19 | Minnesota wide receiver A.J. Barker made his point in both short and long form over the weekend, announcing on Twitter he was leaving the team and seeking to transfer for his final season. He also created a Tumblr page where he published what he says was a letter he sent to head coach Jerry Kill, explaining why he is quitting. That letter -- which is more than 4,000 words long and contains some strong language -- has some harsh words for the head coach. It alludes to an apparent confrontation. ... He wrote in the letter: "In light of that pathetic, manipulative display of rage and love you put on this past Thursday, I have come to the decision, with the guidance of my parents and my closest friends, that my time on this team has come to an end."

Coach probably told him that he needed to show up on time and work hard on his routes rather than his TD dances... It hurt his feelings.

I cant recall a time in CFB when the player gets in the face of a coach during a game like Bell did to coach Pelini, sign of the times?

Yep!!! Kids are not what they use to be, however the onus is upon the parents!!! I know my sons have always had a time or two they wanted to tell a coach off, but they were afraid of what I would do if they did and didnt come to me first!

I tailgated Saturday with some of the Gopher faithful (not many of those grant you) but that is their hope also.... but there hasn't been a culture of winning at Minny for so long that there are few left alive who remember it....they bring good beer with them
