League has already made its final offer

08:21 AM ET 11.19 | On the verge of meeting again, the two sides in the lockout have tested the patience of nearly every hockey fan. Maybe, with a quick resolution we might have a $2.8-billion business to split between the players and the owners. I hope it's that much. The expectation for Monday's talk cannot be very good. There is nothing to indicate that either side has had an epiphany. I have been told the NHL has made its final offer. And despite claims by the Players' Association, that the two sides are actually closer than most realize, it's hard to imagine an agreement with the league gaining so much on the issues of contracting (length of contracts, salary variance, free agency, entry-level system and arbitration) is possible.

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here to remember and celebrate the life of the late, great(?) National Hockey League.

At least it is getting a service.

Your Cleveland teams have been dead for years but nobody will bury them.

The NHL isn't dead, it's just taking a nap while waiting for the NHLPA to get their "COLLECTIVE" heads out of their ****.

We just can't bear to let them go. Browns and Cavs are both 2-8. They're like twins. Isn't that special?

I must admit yesterday I was cheering "GO BROWNS" and I wasn't in the bathroom.

My second favourite team every week is whoever is playing the Cowpies.

They would, but the only medical personnel who can perform that procedure have been tied up for months trying to help the owners with this same problem.

And I was happy to see you basically force fed that game if you wanted to watch NFL yesterday AM. I think GB-Det was your only other option.

Sounds like what you need to do is write a letter to their owners in very intimidating Comic Sans font, demanding improvement immediately! I mean, how do you blow a lead against the Cowboys?!

Quit teasing as if they're going to not re-sign him. It's not nice to give us hope :(
