Wings goalies struggling to stay sharp

08:29 AM ET 11.19 | During the course of the lockout, a few lines worth of Red Wings players have been gathering to skate at a local public rink in hopes of keeping their skills somewhat intact. For the guys shooting the puck it appears easier, although missing the hitting and competitive nature of games and practices is getting increasingly difficult. But the guys stopping the puck, Red Wings goaltenders Jimmy Howard and Jonas Gustavsson, along with other locked out goalies around the NHL, might be having a tougher time keeping sharp. "Definitely it's a lot different compared to the normal practices we're used to," Howard said after a workout last week. "Playing these cross-ice games, even though they're fun, they're just not realistic."

Shortside sharp is about as good as 26 oz's deep Ed Belfour after punching three holes through the locker room wall. If he's not sharp, there are going to be some real massacres at the Joe.

Harry..............If I've told you once, I've told you, er, more than once..........don't use that 4-letter word (W-O-R-K) on the threads. It's just not conducive to me goofing off in comfort!

Don't be redundant. Shortside stories are 'King' stories.
Albeit Stephen King, as in "Horror Stories."

Sure it is. If they agreed to everything put before them they'd be playing now.

It's very...short-sighted of you to think this is a story solely about Shortside. This story obviously is about Zetterberg bringing Swedish candies to the U.S. and his brilliant business foresight that there would be a void with Twinkies going out of business.

And the owners/Bettman could have taken the extra 7% of HRR and run with it...but no. We are where we are (btw, I'm using this instead of the trite/annoying "It is what it is.").

Million dollar 3rd liners and scrubs who see the ice for 3 minutes a game making 550 grand is hardly getting the shaft.
