12:02 PM ET 11.19 | The Pittsburgh Steelers will likely work out free agent quarterbacks this week, as backup Byron Leftwich might not be able to play after suffering a rib injury while filling in for Ben Roethlisberger. Jason La Canfora of CBS reports that the Steelers are worried that Leftwich's injuries will keep him from playing next Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, although he did return to the game after taking a big hit Sunday night. Leftwich had been forced into a starting role when Roethlsiberger also suffered a rib injury last week against the Kansas City Chiefs that keep him out for up to a month.

I'd much rather have Batch in there anyway...whether Leftwich is healthy or not.

The NFL suspended Baltimore Ravens All-Pro safety Ed Reed on Monday for one game without pay for violations of a rule prohibiting hits to the head and neck area of defenseless players, reports NFL.com.
Reed was penalized for unnecessary roughness in the Ravens??? 13-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. The league says it is Reed???s third violation in three years of rules protecting defenseless players. Reed will not play in the Ravens game against the San Diego Chargers next Sunday.
