04:39 PM ET 11.19 | The NFL suspended Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman Joe Hawley four games Monday for violating the league's performance enhancing drug policy. Hawley earned the suspension for his use of Adderall, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He did not test positive for any steroids, according to his agent, and he will not appeal the suspension. Hawley, who is in his third season with the Falcons, has appeared in six games for the team in 2012, all of them as a reserve.

A doctor can legally prescribe that medication to treat a mental condition, and the NFL should not be able to touch him.He probably didn't have a prescription.

And... That's what I fail to understand.

Get a damn prescription!

Even with a doctor's prescription Adderall cannot be used by NFL players. There are other medications just as effective that are approved by the league.

Yeah, but what creeps me out about that is that 6 months later, lawyers are advertising: "If you took Zanax and you are now permanently liver damaged or dead, call us !"

There are too many lawyers trying to make money off the pharmaceutical companies.

Almost every prescription medicine has side effects and patients are advised about them when ever their doctor prescribes it. People that take cholesteral medication have a risk of liver damage.

I'm sorry ... don't these NFL "professionals" know about what is and isn't legal?
