04:53 PM ET 11.19 | The ACC has a spot free now that Maryland's leaving for the Big Ten. They'll almost certainly pull once again from the Big East, but which school to take? UConn, Louisville, Cincinnati, and USF seem to be the most likely, in that order, but comparing success as the most critical sport -- football -- leaves Louisville and Cincy well above the others. Which would you take?

I would take Louisville. Good in basketball and getting better in football.

Was just looking at the ticker, Boise reconsidering Big east move, thinking Mountain West. Would just like to point out how pathetic it is at the point that they haven't been able to shoe-horn themselves into the Big 12 or the Pac 12...they bitched endlessly through the Kellen Moore years about being left in the cold. Nowadays everybody and their mother is getting invited to the dance and yet somehow they still can't get a sniff from anybody.
Before the Boise apologists start, I'm just going to point out that there's NO EXCUSE for a program that sees themselves as elite and poised to become big time NOT being able to work out something that would allow their school to move into a position to be legit. Yes, I understand that Maryland and Rutgers are situated close to large markets, but neither of those franchises draws particularly well and neither of them has any real foothold in the market they are linked to. On the flip side, Boise is a small market, but even as a small market playing in an irrelevant conference, they have gotten more serious national airtime than those other programs put together. Before losing Petterson, perhaps they should scrap the blue turf and hire an AD that can get a legit move signed, sealed & delivered.

My first criteria would be ABSOLUTELY NO teams from the Big East.
I'd like to see the ACC drop Maryland, Wake, Duke, and BC...and replace them with Alabama, UF, Georgia, and South Carolina.

I would take UConn. Mainly for its proximity to ESPN HQS. Moreover, the basketball program has been as good as anyone's in the past 20 years. Football team is as good as Louisville or Cincinnati's.

So FSU does want to move to the SEC.

Not necessarily, but having those teams in our conference would mean we could lose 2 games, and still maintain our Top 10 spot in the polls.

I used to like the fact that we were part of the ACC, but now it's turned into a liability. It's our albatross.
I don't know what the answer is, but the ACC is not getting serious about football, at a time when other conferences are. And we are first, and foremost, a "football school."
