Unique excuse for Giants' slump

07:29 AM ET 11.20 | Even after consecutive losses, the Giants haven't suffered from a lack of confidence. Justin Tuck said the team has had plenty all season --- perhaps too much. "I think we've always been very confident, sometimes maybe too confident, borderline cocky," Tuck said Monday afternoon, as the team returned to their first practice after their bye week. "We lost a little focus. I think everybody on this team believes we can be the best team in the league when we're playing our style of football, it's just unfortunate that we haven't played our style of football in the past couple weeks." ... The Giants have seen their division lead over the Cowboys shrink to one game, behind a slumping offense and a pass rush that is 13th in NFL with 25 sacks.

The way sports in general is today regular season game don't mean much, just let me get into the playoffs and see what happens. Example-the Giants last year Super Bowl champs, Cards two years ago World Series champs, and this years Grey cup both favorites to win got beat and not in championship game.

They'll start playing better when the "Fire Coughlin" and "Manning Sucks" chants start up again.

All teams have flaws, but this team had some serious flaws from the beginning that writers ignored. Lousy LBs, lousy CBs, no one to replace Manningham and a very ordinary OL.
The 6-4 came from the soft part of their schedule. From here on out the competition gets stronger. I just do not see this team winning much here on out. Nine games at the most and that is not enough.

It is not a strong division this year.

Oh it may get worse. The Pack is coming to town. And least we forget, the G-Men were a pinky away from 3 straight in the L column. Hope they used that bye week wisely!

Packers, Saints, Falcons and Ravens left on schedule. If they can win enough from here on out they deserve to go to the playoffs. If not, then they do not deserve to go. The NFL is a cruelly fair endeavor.

No different than last year. They were mediocre then too (9-7).

Another quote from a mindless one....soft part of the schedule.....Buc 6-4, Boys 5-5, 49er 7-2-1, Skins 4-6, Steelers 6-4, Bengals 5-5, left.....Pack 7-3, Falcons 9-1, Ravens 8-2, Skins 4-6, Eagles 3-7, Saints 5-5. Exactly what part of the Schedule is soft..hater? If I would shutty because you sound stupid. These are the New York Giant, SB Champs sucker, sit back and watch, just like you did last year.
I guess now all of a sudden the schedule is harder than it was...NOT! The Giants plays the toughest schedule in the entire league and we ain't bitccchin chump. Its you thats afraid.

9-7 won't make it this year and they will be very lucky to get to 9-7. Packers will win Sunday night.

It's essentially the same guys they won with last year except manningham and he was not that significant other than the one big catch maybe 3rd on the wr depth chart.
as far as there schedule its was the hardest in the nfl beginnning to end not to mention what team wouldn't have a lil extra motivation to knock off the super champs. GB this week has a bad taste from last season 1st rd playoff game. theres always a lil extra when you're playing the SB champs
