07:31 AM ET 11.20 | Plax coming back? Former Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Buress will work out for the team on Tuesday and could be signed to replace injured Jerricho Cotchery, a source told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Cotchery injured his ribs late in the fourth quarter against the Baltimore Ravens and was taken from the field. The Steelers are already without leading receiver Antonio Brown, who has missed the past two games with a high ankle sprain and might not play in Cleveland. Burress was the eighth overall pick by the Steelers in 2000 and played five seasons until he left after the 2004 season in free agency. He 261 catches, 4,164 yards and 22 touchdowns with the Steelers.

Charlie Batch needs all the weapons he can get.

Hopefully this move won't end up shooting them in the foot.

It's all in the perspective.

Just don't put him in during the last 2 minutes. Plax doesn't know squat about Glock management.

Burress in Pittsburgh? It's worth a shot.

The Steelers don't need this ****.

He's got a reputation as a gunslinger.

And.. a reputation as a pouty Diva who doesn't like to practice, and a locker room cancer.

And 31 other teams who have not seen fit to pay him the near $1 million veteran minimum.

Other than that....

Pittsburgh was wise to let him leave before, but with the trade deadline gone, not many options. I would prefer they bring Hines Ward back. Saw him at the game Sunday night and he was on my flight yesterday. Looks to be in great shape. Doesn't have the speed of Plaxico, but would be a better target for Batch.

Apparently desperate times really do call for desperate measures.

Don't understand why he is still out there. He is worth a try. As far as I know he has done nothing stupid in four years, which is pretty good compared to quite a few NFL players. The guy always showed up on game day ready to play.

If they have need, I don't see the problem with signing him. If he F's up dump him in the off season
