Wright put off by Mets offers

They are broke so he'll be playing elsewhere when this contract is up.

Time for David to move on, it's a sad situation, The Mets should be sold or thrown out of the league and put into the Triple A Division! And Pete Rose is still Banned, Go Figure!!!!!!!!!!

If you are the Mets you probably know that Wright is not going to resign with you, so at the winter meetings you move him to the highest bidder for young players or prospects.

Sarge isn't going to like reading this one.....Wright and Dickey have to be resigned or else you may as well shut the team down. They are the two main draws at the gate.

But are they really close to competing? 14 games under last season in a division with at least two teams who are significantly better, Atlanta and Washington. They should try and move him to a team who is close to contending for a WS, has a need at 3rd, has deep pockets and prospects to deal in return. Possibly the Angels who qualify on the first three requirements. They could really benefit from an upgrade over Alberto Callapso to Wright. Not sure if they have the prospects though.

david wright could hire BORAS and thinks would be looking too messy by that time if you know what i mean,,,,,

3 years deal would be the fair amount of playing time in the mets for wright,,,,35 years old its a little too aged this player,,,

wright could fix things really fast, how why?? just give BORAS GREEDY MAN STYLE and wright could be riding the highs before the low's,,,

He'd be a decent piece but not sure he'd be a good fit for that park. 33 HR's in Anaheim probably goes down with 81 games at Citi Field though the fences being moved in should help to a degree. I think the Mets need to to build a team with speed guys, ala the Cards of the 80's.

The gate doesn't mean crap to me.....we need to get better ...we need young talent....you trade Dickey and Wright and you get the ball rolling...we already have 3 real good young starters in Harvey,Niese and Gee. We desperately need a a stud outfielder and a good young catcher......New York Mets fans want to see a young smart hustling ball team...you don't need big names you just need W's....

Wright declined the second half of 2012. Only 35 HRs and 154 RBIs the past two years.

A solid ballplayer and a fan favorite but I think his best years are behind him. Do you keep him because he stands out among mediocrities? A trade could help the Mets still some conspicuous holes? Outfield? Catcher? Relievers?

The Price is not Wright i guess.

Fenway Park would be a great landing spot for Wright with that monster in left field and the Red Sox want to win unlike the Mets status quo..

Wright could bring a load if dealt. The Mets will at least listen to offers.

but then again players tend to look for a decent long term deal and the only way is,,to have a good last year in their team's after that they get signed for a long term and turn off their engine nevertheless!!

I'm sorry, but if he had the same agents as Melky Cabrera when that **** went down, I'd bounce agents so fast and seek employment elsewhere. The fact he has stuck with the same agents, he gets what he deserves.

Well for one thing he's 29, not 35. He's a very good 3rd baseman who would definitely help a contender. As a Met fan I'd like to see him stay but it's a business and fans want a winner too. That's why Sandy does what he does and I do what I do...
