11:47 AM ET 11.20 | The NFL's flex scheduling rules will not be put into play in Week 13. The NFL announced on Tuesday that the Sunday night game on NBC in Week 13 would remain the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. The Denver Post reports NBC is was eyeballing the Broncos-Bucs game scheduled for that week but stuck with the Eagles and Cowboys. The only question is whether people will still tune in to watch the Eagles implode.

Thanks NBC! Now I'll be able to get some Christmas shopping done that night.

The Eagles and the Cowboys may be out of the playoff hunt by then- reconsider this one NBC !

Watching the Eagles implode. Now that's entertainment.

I'm not sure what they are allowed to take, but Vikings-Packers is on Fox and Steelers-Ravens is on CBS. Either of those would be a more significant game for fans.

But, they're more interested in Big Market teams and selling ads. Remember, NBC does not care about fans.

Nor does the NFL.

They kept this game for the same reason that Fox made a matchup between these two teams their "National Game of the Week"...

Like em or hate em - people watch the Cowboys.

this one is not a given that the eagles will implode and lose..... remember they are playing the cowboys. dallas and philly... although it matters to almost nobody other than fans, who wins, neither team is going anywhere and BOTH teams badly need HC changes. philly is a pretty sure bet to make that change, but with JJ calling the shots in dallas, he could give garrett an extension on his contract, along with romo!

Everybody loves a trainwreck, or so NBC is hoping

The Cowboys are only 1 game back in the NFC East. They still have something to play for, and their starting quarterback is healthy. The Eagles? You can talk about "playing for pride," but what it really comes down to is tanking to get a better draft position.

Blowout.
