11:59 AM ET 11.20 | San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback Alex Smith watched his team, led by backup Colin Kaepernick, carve up the Chicago Bears, 32-7, on Monday Night Football, and the case could be the same next Sunday when San Francisco visits the New Orleans Saints (4:25 p.m. on FOX). According to Eric Branch and Ann Killion of the San Francisco Chronicle, Smith admitted late Monday he's still feeling the effects from the concussion he suffered in last Sunday's 24-24 tie with the St. Louis Rams. The latest development on Smith's head injury is a bit conflicting from earlier reports that said the 49ers' signal caller was close to starting Monday. He didn't, and Kaepernick took over to lead the 49ers to their third win in four weeks.
