08:09 AM ET 11.21 | Carmelo Anthony was having one of those nights Tuesday, but he didn't have a chance to hang an even bigger number. "Honestly, I thought he was going to score 50," Tyson Chandler said. Anthony definitely had that look, but ultimately the Knicks were too strong, and the undermanned New Orleans Hornets so defenseless that Mike Woodson used the last 16 minutes of Tuesday's 102-80 victory to rest his superstar forward in advance of Wednesday's game against Dallas. "It could have been a great night. Who knows?" Anthony said. "It's kind of hard to tell. We'll see. I'm pretty sure there'll be nights like that again." Anthony finished with 29 points in 28 minutes as the Knicks began their second three-game road trip in consecutive weeks with a victory.

It doesn't sound like not being able to score 50 mattered to Melo which tells how far Melo's come in his maturity, seeing the big picture and being comfortable with the sacrifices he has to make to achieve the common goal.

Keep up the good work Melo. It don't matter if you score 9 or 90; only the W matters and we got it.

You are on the best team in the NBA! Go Knicks...

QUOTE(#7):

"It could have been a great night. Who knows?" Anthony said. Wasn't winning by a big margin and having so much time to rest a very good night especially if you have a game the next day?

melo is in his prime you do relize that right? melo never did or should have conditioning problems. Thats more of a concern for kidd, wallace and camby. Regardless i don't think it's a issue for coach or player. But fact is when woodson took him out while he was on fire. It allowed the hornets to come back into the game

For the promise of this season's sake I hope he backs off that statement and realizes only WINNING makes a special night. Don't get corky Melo... y're the top scorer in the league playing for the best team in the league.... You have no reason to complain about anything. Being a captain you should be the first to not even mention anything that y've sacrificed. Take this as a little bump in the road, put it behind you and get your mind right.

True...but he was feelin it. He wanted to see how "hot" he truly was...could have been a 60 pt night. We all know that doesnt mean a darn thing over the team winning but you cant knock a player for wanting to stay on fire..lol

Shutty dude and watch like the resta them. I remember all the hate you had for every knick asides from Dumbtoni and his "System and that non descript and largely ineffective Jeremy Love". Dude shutty, we true Knicks fans don't needed backhanded comments from you or your buddy, yeah you know the one.....Watch us cause we ain't losing in a row like you hoped all last year.......dude pleeze!

What are you not understanding about melo never having issues with fatique? I'm trying to figure out what elite player in his late 20's can't handle big minuetes in a back to back game?
